I had a good time collecting signatures today. I got a picture of my blockers; I figured if they get nasty, the cops can use it for ID. But they seemed harmless enough. They were telling lies, of course, and they knew they were telling lies. That's a shame. There may be causes worth lying for, but lying to sustain inequality is just bad karma.
Over the whole time I was collecting, I don't think they cost me a single signature, or persuaded anyone who was going to sign not to sign. So my time was well-spent, and theirs was wasted. Shucks. :-)
I'm not privy to the total number of signatures we have, but the campaign seems pretty upbeat. It's not just Lincoln and Omaha, but the numbers from rural Nebraska are just piling up. I think this one's a winner.
